Wedding & Special Event Lighting in Corpus Christi, TX

Lighting sets the mood of an event before a single guest says hello. It decides whether a reception feels warm or flat, whether the photos glow or need a flash, and whether people stay outside after dark or drift toward their cars.

Showcase Decorative Lighting is available all year for weddings, bar mitzvahs, graduations, parties, conventions and any other special event in the Corpus Christi area. We bring the same design eye and installation crew that light the Coastal Bend for the holidays, and we take everything down when the celebration is over.

Wedding lighting

Bayfront ceremonies, ranch receptions, beach weddings and backyard celebrations all change character when the sun goes down. We plan lighting for each part of the day: the ceremony, the walk between spaces, dinner, the dance floor and the send-off.

Overhead bistro and string lighting is the most requested look for outdoor receptions, and for good reason. A canopy of warm light defines the space, flatters everyone under it and photographs well. Wrapped trees and palms, a lit entry and soft uplighting on walls or around a tent complete the picture.

If you have inspiration photos, send them. If you are working with a planner or a venue coordinator, we are glad to work with them directly.

Parties, graduations and milestones

A graduation party, quinceañera, anniversary or holiday party at home needs the yard to work like a venue for one night. We light the areas guests will actually use, make paths and steps easy to see and add color where it fits the theme. School colors for a graduation are a favorite.

Corporate events, conventions and community celebrations

For company parties, grand openings, conventions and community events, lighting does practical work too. It tells people where to enter, where to gather and what to look at. Color-changing RGB lighting can put a brand or a theme on a building, a backdrop or a row of palms.

For holiday-season events, oversized ornaments and photo-worthy displays from our commercial decor catalogs give guests something to gather around.

Outdoor events on the coast

Outdoor events here come with wind, humidity and the occasional surprise shower. We plan installations with that in mind, from how overhead lines are supported to where power is run.

How event lighting works

  • Tell us the date, the venue or address, and what you have in mind
  • We look at the space and how it will be used
  • You receive a design and a written quote
  • We install before the event
  • We remove everything afterward

Lighting looks we install

Most events use a combination of a few looks. These are the ones we are asked for most often.

  • Bistro canopy: overhead strings of warm light across a reception, dance floor or dinner tables
  • Tree and palm lighting: wrapped trunks and lit canopies that frame the space
  • Uplighting: soft light washing up a wall, a row of columns or the sides of a tent
  • Tent and pergola lighting: lines of light along the frame and across the ceiling
  • Entry and aisle lighting: a lit arrival and a clear, flattering path to the ceremony
  • Path and step lighting: so guests in formal shoes can see where they are walking
  • Color: RGB lighting set to the wedding palette or the theme of the party

Venues and settings

Every setting asks for something different. A bayfront lawn has open sky and wind, so overhead lighting needs solid support and the view should stay clear. A ranch or barn reception usually has trees and rafters to work with and a long, dark approach that benefits from a lit entrance. A beach wedding often moves to a deck or courtyard after sunset, and that is where the lighting belongs.

A backyard is the most personal venue of all and usually needs the most planning, because it was not built for a hundred guests. We look at where people will arrive, eat, dance and walk to the restrooms, and make sure each of those is lit.

Lighting and your photos

Sunset on the Coastal Bend is the best free lighting there is, and a good plan picks up where it leaves off. Warm overhead light keeps faces soft and backgrounds glowing after dark, which is what gives reception photos their atmosphere. If you know when your ceremony and first dance fall relative to sunset, tell us, and share the plan with your photographer too.

What to have ready when you call

  • The date and the start and end times
  • The venue name or address
  • A rough guest count and layout, if you have one
  • Which areas will be used after dark
  • Any venue rules about attaching lighting or running power
  • Inspiration photos

You do not need every answer to get started. A date and a place are enough for a first conversation.
